ASIA CUP-2023: India not to travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup, new venue on the card.

BCCI secretary Joy Shah has, Indian Cricket Board secretary yesterday clearly said that India is not going to Pakistan for Asia cup leaving players life in danger. This news came after the Asian Cricket Council meeting where PCB chairman Najam Sethi was also present.

Asia cup was scheduled to be played in September this year in Pakistan but after India’s firm decision not to play in Pakistan has put a full stop on the possibility of the tournament to be played in Pakistan.

last year, in December, ACC chairman Shah had released the itinerary of the continental body and the venue of Asia Cup wasn't mentioned. This led to Sethi to accuse Shah of taking "Unilateral decision", an allegation that ACC officially refuted stating that repeated emails to PCB seeking recommendations on the itinerary went unanswered.

In October last year, the erstwhile PCB chief Ramiz Raja had back then threatened that Pakistan will not travel to India for this year's 50 over World Cup if India do not participate in the Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan. (With PTI inputs)

Format, Teams, Schedule of Asia Cup-2023

This year the tournament will be played in a 50 over format, last year due to T20 world cup in Australia it was played in a T20 format. There will be six teams this year namely India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Srilanka and a qualifier team. Srilanka is the defending champion. The schedule has not been yet published and is expected to be published soon.
