India set to go with a new keeper against Australia in upcoming series

New wicket keeper on the card as K L Rahul won't do wicket keeping

Four match test series in Border-Gavaskar trophy is about to begin from 9th Feb, before the start of the tournament, Indian team management is in series dilemma about the selection of wicket-keeper in the upcoming series.

India is all set to go with a new wicket keeper against Australia after Pant's injury and KL Rahul's decession not to do wicket keeping in test. KS Bharat is on the forefront to replace Pant in test cricket,  Bharat is set get get his test debut in test cricket in this series after "warming" bench for long 1.5 years.

Chance for  KS Bharat

KL Rahul has a long history of injury so team managements want him not to use as a wicketkeeper in longest format of cricket which needs a specialist wicket keeper.Though there are two possibilities between Ihan Kishan and Bharat but Bharat has slight edge over Ishan in test format.

Barat vs Kishan

KS Bharat has been in splendid form in both first class and list A cricket thereby making him the prime choice for the upcoming test series. Bharat was on the field in the first test against New Zealand on NOV 2021 as a replacement for the injured Wriddhiman Saha. He took two catches behind the stumps in that match. Since then he has been a regular member of the test squad for India but was not in the playing 11, this time it seems managements will consider him as no.1 keeper in test cricket for India.

Series of events so far
